Proposal for a new Rail Vehicle System in the Age of Broadband Networks

It was two years ago that we went back to consider what was going to be required in the future from railways and rail vehicles. We proposed a structure of rail vehicle system based on an aluminium double skin and module rigging system in which fundamental improvements were introduced into the structure and method of construction of vehicles involving assembly with a large scale friction stir welding (FSW) device, and we referred to the concept underlying this system as the "A-Train". We feel proud that this concept is now generally accepted as the standard for aluminium rail vehicles in Japan.
The 21st century is now getting under way with a vengeance and, with our angle of vision directly firmly towards the future, we have now made further advances in the basic "A-Train" concept. In the form of the B system, we have been proposing the "A-Train B-System" concept in the hope that it will contribute to the realization of a rationally conceived vehicles truly oriented towards the future.
