Tsukuba Express (Joban New Line), now under construction can take you in 45minutes at the fastest, from Tsukuba-city, Ibaraki Prefecture, which is an academic town stationed to the northeast of Tokyo, and Akihabara, which is famous for electric appliance retail district in Tokyo. It adopts TX1000 Series rolling stocks and TX2000 Series in 58.3 kilometer-long alignment.
On April 18, an introduction ceremony of the first TX2000 manufactured by Hitachi was held in Moriya Operation & Maintenance Center, with the honor of the Ibaraki prefectural governor’s attendance.
Rolling stocks of "Tsukuba Express" brought together cutting-edge technologies, and are designed and manufactured on the concept of "Environmental Consideration" and "Safety and Amenity".
In the exercise of "Environmental Consideration", A-Train Technology realized "lightweight & energy saving" and "recycle" as well as ozone nondestructive cooling medium is adopted.

Furthermore, ATC* (Automatic Train Control System) achieved safety and comfortable ride of passengers at 130 km/h of the highest cruise speed as well as ATO* (Automatic Train Operation) one-man drive control.

For maintainability, some equipment has self-diagnostic function as well as automatic inspection system with a monitor display.
