The Train Control System of the 21st Century
Conventional ATC transmits permitted speed information to the on-board device via analog signal sent from the ground. In Digital ATC, the ground equipment sends stopping point information by digital signal. The on-board device retrieves single-step braking pattern in order to control the distance from the preceding train. In this way, Digital ATC achieves better riding comfort and shortened train headway. Therefore Digital ATC is an effective safety equipment for pacifying congestion of train passengers.
