Non-CFC refrigerant
Cooling of elements is designed with full consideration given to environmental measures through adoption of a heat pipe method not using Freon coolant.
Energy saving, high efficiency
Inverter efficiency has been raised (in comparison with Hitachi's previous one) to 98% and efforts have been successfully made to save on energy. We are also striving to cut back on energy consumption through the adoption of snubber-less circuit.
Quiet
High-frequency, large-capacity IGBT has been combined with the most advanced inverter technology, resulting in undistorted alternating wave forms and reducing motor noise during powering.
Ride comfort
Use of entirely electric brakes enhances ride comfort and reduces noise from friction of the brake shoes and wear of the shoes.
Maintainability
Full electric brake control and self-diagnosis by means of micro-computer are intended to do away with the need for regular maintenance. Adoption of sensor-less traction motors has enabled the creation of robust motors and reduced maintenance requirements.
Compact, light weight
Full electric brake control and self-diagnosis by means of micro-computer are intended to do away with the need for regular maintenance. Adoption of sensor-less traction motors has enabled the creation of robust motors and reduced maintenance requirements.

Redundancy
There is a lineup of inverters controlling between one and four motors, with efforts being made to respond to a wide variety of needs as regards train formation, operation and performance.
Reliability
Several inverters are organically linked and controlled as a single unit which supports a train system with a high level of operational reliability to ensure that trains are never delayed or cancelled. Each inverter provides optimum control while supervising the data of the other inverters.
