Human/machine interface identical to that of the control console

The PTC and ARC consoles use the same software as the control console, and the CTC and operation display panels are displayed graphically on a CRT monitor with an easy-to-view screen layout that recreates the feel of actual operations. This configuration enables the performance of operations that are virtually identical to actual control operations.

Simulated operations can be started at any time

The start time for simulated operations can be set as desired. Similarly, the system allows simulations to be started easily by automatically positioning trains at the appropriate line locations based on the start time input and the basic timetable. Setting the start time enables training regarding control inputs for operation start and finish procedures.

Entering external disruptions using operation simulation functions

Disruptions and problems can be input for train and interlocking equipment operations. This enables training to be provided for situations that only rarely occur in actual operations. External disruptions can be input by specifying objects (track circuits, signals, switches, and station platforms) using the mouse on the track timetable displayed on the CTC simulator monitor.

[Disruptions that can be set]

  • Train stoppages
(shutdown method, track circuit stop-command method, onboard fault data-transmission method)
  • Trains added or canceled
  • Train operation start
  • Reverse-running instruction (single-line running)
  • Coupling instruction
  • Protection warning (warning track-circuit instruction method)
  • Permissive operation (ATC* disengaged)
  • Setting and eliminating incorrect-track circuit activation
  • Setting and eliminating faulty signal aspects
  • Setting and eliminating faulty switch movements
  • Setting and eliminating station emergency-stop activation
  • *Note: In some countries, 'ATC' here is also called 'ATP (Automatic Train Protection)'.

Starting simulation from the desired time

The replay function replays the previous operation history and the results of the simulation operation recorded in the operation record. During replay, the operation log and warning history are displayed on the display-panel monitor and on the PTC console’s operation-status display. This allows control inputs to be assessed for past operation history and training results. The operation log and warning history can also be printed out.

Easy startup and shutdown using centralized controls

The Operation Management Support System is started up and shut dowan easily using centralized controls on the power-supply box. There is no need to switch each individual device on or off.
